The paper examined the importance of counselling units and essential educational resources for the realization of basic education in Nigeria. It identified the key challenges faced by the educational system and suggests strategies for overcoming these barriers to ensure quality education for all children. The realization of basic education in Nigeria faces numerous challenges, including inadequate resources, infrastructure, and professional support. Counselling units play a crucial role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. However, the effectiveness of counselling services in Nigeria's educational system remains hindered by a lack of resources, insufficiently trained counselors, and socio-economic barriers.
