IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT TO EDUCATION FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA

Without a questions, a nation's educational system is the conversion of its success in economic, political and social spheres. Managing this important business in Nigeria to achieve national objectives has proven to be a mirage. In terms of money, people, and material resources, policies and programmes, the educational sector in Nigeria has gotten a lot from previous administrations, but these resources and efforts have not been managed well enough to achieve the intended educational goals or objectives. This paper looks at the value or applicability of educational management in meeting national educational goals. The paper concludes that effective management of the education sector is required to solve important issues related to educational planning, execution, supervision and monitoring, money utilization and other elements like the expanding demand for education and quality control among others. It was suggested that intensive and ongoing training as well as development program for managers of education in order to prepare them for these dynamics. Additionally, it is necessary to prevent corruption, which plagues Nigeria's development efforts
